Since God is Infinite Consciousness, at the same time within the depth of our souls, we have direct potentiality to realize His presence.
How is this defined? In the personal experience, one realizes Self (prior to birth) as being called into service by the Lord directly.
In the process one begins to understand as one unfolds. Thus, the potential to know this reality comes into personal knowledge as (Sat) truth one remembers.
We look to Bede Griffiths*, in his book, Universal Wisdom, he quotes the Vedic Literature: The Mundaka Upanishad, that declares:
Take the bow of our sacred knowedge, lay against it the arrow of devotion, pull the string of consentration, strike the target. Aum is the bow, the personal self is the arrow, and the impersonal Self, the target. Aim accurately, sink therein. (65)
